Tason Gregory Severts

Tason Gregory Severts
September 29, 2009
8 lbs 13 ozs, 20 1/4 ins

We were scheduled for an induction at 8:30am this morning. But at 3:30am I woke up with pretty strong contractions. I tried to go back to sleep, but I ended up waking up about every 12 mins with another contraction. So, at about 4:30am, I decided to try and get up and move around to see if the contractions would stop. I hopped in the shower and the contractions only got stronger and closer together. I woke Greg up and we gathered our stuff together and left for the hospital. Luckily this time we were already in Vegas and it was only a 10 min ride down the highway. We got to the hospital at 6am and when the nurse checked me, I was already dilated 5 cm. I got my epidural at 7am and Tason was born at 8:30am (which was the same time that I was scheduled for induction).

the parade

We love the Fall Festival parade. We wake up early, get our good spot in front of the grassy area at Terrible's, then Greg runs over to McDonald's to get us some yummy breakfast!!!  Finally, we settle in for some interesting floats and TONS of candy!  On a side note; when the firetrucks and police cars went by with all of their sirens on, the baby (still in my tummy)  totally went crazy kicking and moving around, it was sooo weird!!

first ballet performance

Our little ballerina, Briley, had her very first ballet performance today. Her pre-ballet class was invited to perform their Spring Recital routine at the Fall Festival. They have had only about 4 classes so far, so it's pretty cute to watch them try to follow along with their teacher.

In the video, Briley is in the second column from the side the teacher is on, in the back row. She's hard to see for most of the video, but every now and then she steps away from the girl in front of her and then you can see her.

What a great sneak peek for the Spring Recital!!!

Fall Festival

It's that time of year again, Fall Festival!!!  The girls had sooo much fun!  We love going on Thursday night; it's not too crowded and we always run into lots of friends.  Too bad we have to wait a whole year to do it again (though for our wallets sake, we are grateful for the break)!  :)

Student of the month

Avalyn received Student of the Month for September in Music class!  She really loves going to school.  And anyone who knows her, knows how much she loves singing!  We are sooo proud of her! Great Job Avalyn!!!

2

Happy Birthday Shallon!!!!

Shallon turned 2 today. We had a little family party at home. Shallon was very excited to open her presents. Especially after watching her older sisters open presents just 3 weeks earlier. Her favorite present, if you can't tell by the picture, was a Dora plate set. I'm soooo glad that I caught her reaction! After presents we had a little birthday ice cream.

I can't believe my little baby is already 2. Now I'm really ready to have our baby boy come!!! :)

make-up...

This post is dedicated to our nephew Carson (see smaller photo). Apparently Carson is not the only one who likes to watch his mommy put on make-up! And then try it out when no one is looking!!! Luckily Shallon's tears (from getting caught) helped wash away most of the mascara. And a little eye make-up remover got rid of the rest. Now if we can just hold her off for 10 more years!

1st day of preschool

Briley has been asking me everyday, since the preschool meet-n-greet at the park, if today is a preschool day! And finally, the first preschool day has arrived!!! I don't think that she could have been more excited when I told her that "Yes, today is a preschool day!" Wouldn't it be nice if our kids are always this excited about school?!

preschool meet-n-greet

It's preschool time again! :)

This will be Briley's second year of preschool, and my fourth year. This morning was our opening get together at the park. The moms (teachers) received our "information packets" and the kids (students) got to meet one another and play together. This year there are 4 girls and 4 boys. Last year Briley was the only girl with 7 boys. It should be fun to have some more girls around this year!

We had a really fun day today and I think this is going to be a really fun year!

Little Ballerina

Briley started ballet today!!! (This is why I have girls, I love ballet!) She has been waiting to start ballet since the first time that she saw Avalyn put on a ballet leotard. And Briley was super happy to see a lot of good friends in her class! This year is going to be sooo much fun!!

Now we just have to grow her hair back out, so that it's long enough to put in a bun for the Spring recital.
