Circus Circus

On our last day of summer before Greg had to go back to work, we decided to spend it at Circus Circus. The kids had soooo much fun, including the biggest one! I think we ended up staying there for about 5 hours! But it was worth it for the smile on ALL of their faces!!! (sorry in advance for the overload of photos, but I really like photos)

cute shorter hair

The girls have been bugging me for quite some time now to cut their hair (they HATE it when I have to brush out all the tangles). But I just LOVE long hair, so I always said no. Until today...

I'm blaming the pregnancy for my temporary insanity. I do think that the girls look very cute with their new looks, but I still love long hair. So they are growing it back out, starting now. :) On the plus side they definitely have less tangles, which is why they wanted their hair cut in the first place. So hairstyling has become much less time consuming.

Soccer!!!

Avalyn had her first soccer practice today. She's been wanting to play soccer for a while now, so today was a pretty exciting day for her. Even though it was really hot out, she had a blast running around kicking the ball! On the way home she was already asking me when the next time she gets to play soccer. Hopefully she stays this excited about it, then we should have a good season! : )

Kids Workshop...

at Home Depot (a fun thing to do in Pahrump)! So now that I've found this fun little activity for the kids, I plan to take full advantage. The first Saturday of every month Home Depot puts on a FREE Kids Workshop. We went to our first one today and the girls loved it and they were so proud of their message boards! They wanted to hang them up as soon as they got home, but I thought that we should paint them and think about a good place to hang them first (I know, I'm such a lame mom). We finally did get around to painting them a few days later and the girls got to hang their message boards in their room. We can't wait to see what the project will be next month!

Ice Age 2

This was Briley's first time seeing a movie theater movie. She did great! I think that her favorite part though, was getting to hold her baby cousin Blake! All the kids did really well during the movie (Grammy babysat Shallon). If theater tickets weren't sooo expensive, we might actually do this more often.

4th of July!!! (fireworks)

Our fireworks experience, this year, started off with some fireworks that uncle Ryan brought. Then the kids did some sparklers and Pop-It's. Then we found a large parking lot where some people were setting off their own fireworks and we settled in to watch the show. We could also see the large fireworks display the city (Cedar City) was putting on from where we were.

We had a really great 4th of July!! I only wish that we could get together with our family like this every year. Maybe a new Severts' family tradition?! :)

4th of July!!! (cousins)

It was sooo fun having all the Severts' cousins together. Hopefully we can get together like this often, so they can all be good friends and know each other really well. Plus, look how cute and photogenic they all are!

4th of July!!! (hike)

For the 4th, Greg's brother, Paul, hooked us up with a sweet cabin near Bryce Canyon. The best part was that, not only was it our family and Paul's family, but Ryan's family and Grammy and Granddad!!!! It was sooo fun seeing all the cousins together! These pictures are from a little hike up to Strawberry Point. The view was amazing, but a little nerve wracking with small children.

Avalyn's new smile...

Avalyn lost her first tooth today! She is pretty excited about a visit from the tooth fairy tonight!!! I wonder what the going rate for a baby tooth is these days?! I guess we will find out in the morning...

*in case you were wondering, the tooth fairy is giving out 4 quarters for each baby tooth at our house.

swimming...

While we were in Utah we went swimming at this awesome pool by Paul and Natalie's house. It had water slides, a lazy river and shallow area with fountains, very fun. Unfortunately after we had been there for only about a half an hour there was a lightning storm and the pool had to be cleared. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! :)

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

While we were in Utah, we were able to go to the Oquirrh Mtn. Temple open house. I don't think that the girls really understood the significance of being able to walk through such a sacred place, but it was still a very special time for our family. We loved being able to show the girls some of the beautiful rooms that they could one day get married in. The girls were very reverent during our walk through (unlike some other kids that were behind us) and they kept commenting on how pretty Heavenly Father's house was!!! This was definitely an amazing, once in a lifetime experience, for our family!
