crazy sleeping

So our baby (for now), Shallon, has been sleeping in her own bed now for about 2 weeks!!! And she has actually been going down pretty easily with her sisters every night. Well.... tonight, she went down just like normal. When Greg went to check on the girls, this is how he found her....asleep! Legs dangling and all!!

And Shallon isn't the only one that we have found sleeping in this position! I found quite a few pictures of Avalyn! Here's one, where she fell asleep on the couch, while I was making lunch.

I couldn't find any pictures of Briley sleeping weirdly. I guess she's our only normal one! Or maybe it's just thumb-suckers, they can sleep anywhere!

Ballet Recital 2009

Brianne, Hailey and Avalyn hanging out backstage.

Avalyn dancing to "Someday My Prince Will Come," from Snow White. I try to keep Avalyn centered for the whole video, so that you can spot her easily.

After the show, all the dancers come on stage for a final bow.

Avalyn and Miss Rachel, her Kinderballet teacher.

Beautiful flowers for a beautiful ballerina!

Easter!

Here are our little Early Birds showing off their Easter loot!

Shallon's even taking after her aunt Lindsay and starting her addiction to Cadbury Mini-Eggs at the early age of 1!

The girls in their pretty new Easter dresses (thanks Nana)!
And finally an updated family photo (thanks Granddad)!

Easter prep...

Ok, so I'm going to be honest. I don't really like this Easter tradition. It seems like more of a headache than any actual fun, plus it's stinky and messy!! And during the "hunt" (and after), I would much rather find a plastic egg with yummy candy in it than a stinky hard-boiled egg.

That being said, the girls and daddy did have fun coloring the eggs. Grammy and Granddad even joined in on the fun. And the Easter Bunny enjoyed hiding all of the colored eggs out in plain sight, so that none would be forgotten! Now the Easter baskets were another story.

Crazy Hair Day!

Today was "Crazy Hair Day," at Floyd Elementary!!! With Avalyn's long, beautiful hair, we really got to have some fun, making braided curly-Qs and twisty-messy buns all over her head. You might be able to tell from the pictures that Avalyn didn't think that it was quite as much fun as I did. And with Greg's not-so-long hair, he got to wear his FAVORITE Savers wig. At least he didn't Bic his head, like he talked about, I probably would have cried.

Monster Trucks!!!

After Kindergarten today, we received a tip that there was a Monster Truck rally being set up down the street (thanks Susan). So we drove over to check it out! While we were waiting, the kids got to walk over to the trucks and get a closer look. If you want to see some close-up shots of the kids with the Monster Trucks, check out Janci's blog. After waiting for hours we finally got to see some action. The kids loved it, especially our sweet little Briley. She kept jumping up and down and yelling, "I'm having soooo much fun!"

Some final shots of the girls hanging out:

Lasagna Face

My first attempt at home-made lasagna was a success!!! I wish that I would have taken a picture of it straight out of the oven because it looked beautiful. Just like Stouffer's (which by the way, is the only kind of lasagna I have ever fed my family)! Not only did it look beautiful, but my whole family devoured it! I'm totally adding my lasagna to our regular dinner rotation.

ps. I'm on an Italian kick right now. So if you have any good Italian recipes, please send them my way! I love Italian food and thankfully so does my family!!!

Mommy's Girl

Avalyn took this picture of Shallon and me. I just thought that it was cute!

Rockstar Hair

Sooo... I picked Avalyn up from an after-school playdate and this is how she looked!

Though I was not exactly happy about her new hair color, I am a scrapbooker, so I had to take a couple pictures. Then it was straight to the bathtub for her. After about an hour of scrub, rinse, repeat... we were able to get all of the red out of her hair. And I am happy to say that Avalyn is blonde once again.

New Hair!

Grammy came over today, so that I could help her highlight her hair. Now, I am by no means a professional, but I think that it turned out really cute! Lots of all over blondeness! And since there was a ton of hightlighting stuff left over, we decided to have Grammy do my hair. I think my hair also turned out really cute, I really like it. It's a little more stripy than Grammy's hair. It's fun to change up your look every now and then and I haven't done that in a long time. Thanks sooo much Grammy for the fun new hair!!!

preschool pictures

Today was picture day at Briley's preschool. I think that her pictures turned out really cute, fake smile and all! Even the group shot, with all of the kids doing something different, just like real life. As you can see Briley is the only girl this year. Which is a flip from Avalyn's 2 years in Preschool, where both years there was just 1 boy. Briley is really loving Preschool, even with all the boys!

Pahrump Dairy Field Trip

Briley's preschool teacher, Miss Shelley, set up a really fun field trip to our local dairy today. I think that the kids really had a good time (except the only GIRL, Briley, who complained the whole time about how stinky it was). We even got to see some newborn cows that were born as recently as that morning. I could not believe how big the newborns were, as a mom all I have to say is "Thank goodness I am not a cow," those babies are gigantic! *(see pictures of kids right up against the fence) And we ended the field trip with some yummy chocolate milk and cookies provided by Shelley. Thanks Shelley, what a fun field trip, (even though it was pretty stinky)!

We (heart) Chuck E. Cheese!

While we were on vacation in Las Vegas, our good friends, the Abbiss Family, came to visit us. They have 3 kids just like us and the kids are all about the same ages. Avalyn and McKenna are both 5 (ok technically McKenna just turned 6 a week ago), Briley and Theron are both 3, and Shallon and Kairi are 8 months apart. We took all the kids over to Chuck E. Cheese. They were REALLY excited!!! *(see photo #1 "jumping for joy") And they had lots of fun. Plus, it was really nice to see our friends while we are on vacation.
