With school winding down and the weather getting HOT, we had to get the kiddie pool out of the garage to cool off a little.  This looks like the beginning of a beautiful summer!

Talent Show 2010

Avalyn and her good friend Kaytlyn performed in the school talent show today!  They sang a duet of "You belong with me" by Taylor Swift.  We are sooo proud of them!  Great job girls!!!

Turkey!

I have NEVER cooked a turkey before this one.  And I probably never would have if I hadn't gotten this one for free (thanks Amie)!  I have to say that I am pretty darn proud of myself.  Not only does it look tasty, but it actually was tasty. With a turkey this beautiful I had to go all out with potatoes made from actual potatoes and gravy made from the actual pan drippings and stuffing made from a box!  :)  And my kids liked it, so that's a bonus!  Maybe we will have to have Thanksgiving at our house this year, maybe?!

Happy Birthday, Babe!!!

The kids and I decided to surprise Daddy with some cupcakes during school on his birthday.  And some of his fellow teachers made him the birthday crown and sash.  Then after school we had the the van all packed and ready to head to Vegas! Where we got to celebrate with some hot-tubbing and homemade banana cream pie with Grammy and Granddad!

School picture time! I love updated pictures of my kids.  Too bad they are growing up sooo fast, that the pictures hardly seem updated for long.  Thanks Kathryn for taking pictures of my non-school-aged kids.  :)

Imma "B"

Ever since Avalyn denounced ballet, I have been hoping that one of my other girls would fall in love with dancing.  Briley could be one!  Not only did she not complain once about going to class, but she loved getting all dressed-up and performing her routine!  Her very favorite part though, was getting flowers after her performance!  For the spring recital Briley's class performed to "Flight of the Bumblebee," which explains the costumes.  She loved it so much that she definitely wants to do it again next year!

Preschool Cowgirls!

I was the helper this month for preschool. And we had soooo much fun with Miss Angela! The theme for this month was cowboys. Miss Angela made all the kids (including Shallon) awesome felt cowboy vest complete with cowboy fabric neckerchiefs.  Then she arranged pony rides for all the kids, where we also got to see a giant snake!  Shallon was even brave enough to touch the snake, but Briley was definitely keeping some distance between herself and the snake (just like her mommy).

Hey check out Tason's tie!  I made it from a men's tie!  Thanks Amie for showing me how.  ps. Is this boy cute or what?!  I just LOVE him!!!!

the Rock

Yay, we are finally doing something with our backyard!!!  We ordered some pea gravel, nice kid-friendly rocks, to cover up all the poof dirt and weeds.  And it was finally delivered.  So far the girls have loved playing on the "rock hill" just outside our back fence.  Hopefully they will still like it when it's all spread out across the backyard. Thank you soooooo much to all the guys that came out and helped Greg spread it out!

Sitting up

Tason is sitting up so well now, all by himself. Well, most of the time anyway.
