Happy Birthday, Shallon!

Our baby is 1!

We had a super fun filled evening with Grammy and Granddad and Uncle Sean.

Shallon requested her favorite dinner of pancakes. Then we headed over to Daddy's school. Where Shallon had fun playing on the playground.

And on the drive home she got to stick her head out Grammy's sunroof and practice her princess-parade-wave.

Then Shallon tentatively opened all of her presents. I think she was pretty much thinking "What the heck is going on, why is everyone shoving bags in my face and the dumping all the stuff inside on my lap?" Shallon did receive a couple pairs of shoes, which should get a lot of wear with her new found walking skills.

And during the cake portion of the festivities, Shallon was equally as confused. She daintily picked the slightly-hardened frosting off the cake with her pincher-grasp. And most of it actually made it into her mouth.

Definitely a memorable day, as our sweet baby transitions into a toddler.

Random

Ok, I really am trying to catch up, but it seems impossible. Here are some random, but cute, pics of the girls.

Preschool, wk 2

This week we are learning about the letter B and Feelings.

We took pictures of the kids making a happy face and then a sad face. Here are Briley's pictures. Then, on cardstock, the kids glued their pictures under the corresponding labels "things that make me happy" and "things that make me sad". Then we wrote their responses next to their pictures. Briley said that "parties and ponies" make her happy, and "spiders and Avie not sharing" make her sad. I think that it makes a cute little keepsake. Avalyn also made one, her first year of preschool.

Girls

Text from layout:
' This photo was not staged. It started out with just mommy sitting on the edge of the couch. Then Shallon waddled over and wanted to be held. Next Briley, just climbed right up next to Shallon. Then Avalyn wanted in, too. Of course, then mommy had to get daddy to grab the camera, to capture this “Kodak moment.” '

Preschool, wk 1

This week we worked on the letter A.

We had apple slices and animal crackers for snack time.

We made red ants and human letter A's.

And all month long, we will be working on the color white!

1st steps

Shallon took her first steps today!!! Two weeks before her 1st birthday. Both Avalyn and Briley waited until they were 13 months old to start walking. Obviously, Shallon is a genius! :)

Sorry about the super long video, but at the end Shallon takes her very first unassisted step. I can't believe that I actually caught it on video!

Preschool!!!

This is Briley's first day of preschool. We are doing the same type of preschool, that we did with Avalyn (for each kid that is in the preschool, their mom has to teach for 1 month). I have the month of September, so we will have preschool at our house this month. I'll be sure to post some of the activities that we do.

kinderballet

As soon as Avalyn got home from school (at 11:30am) today, she wanted to get ready for ballet class (at 4pm). I made her wait until at least after lunch. This will be her second year of ballet at Donna's Studio of Dance. It was soo fun to see her run into the studio to greet her fellow ballerinas. Most of the girls are were in her class last year. They were dancing around and hugging each other. Then they all sat in a circle kicking their feet in the air and laughing hysterically. It was sooo cute.

ps. Thanks Kathryn for taking sooo many cute pictures!

Kindergarten!!!

Avalyn's in Kindergarten now. Where does the time go? Wasn't she just born yesterday?! Ok fine, it was 5 years ago, but it seems like yesterday!

Avalyn's teacher is one of our really good friends. So we had to prep Avalyn a little on calling her teacher Mrs. Dean, not JoAnn, at school.

Avalyn had a great first day. She got to wear her new Hannah Montana shirt. And her brand new, pink backpack, all loaded up with a jacket. Best of all she got to ride all the way (5 mins.) to school with dad, on his moped! She was soo excited!!

I can't believe how fast my little princess is growing up!

birthday bowling

On Avalyn and Briley's actual birthday, they got to pick the dinner location. We had dinner at McDonald's, of course.

Then we hit up the local bowling alley, for some good ol' family bowling. We have never done this with the girls before. I really think that they had fun. Briley favorite part was when her "ball hit it (the pin)." Avalyn's favorite part was when she "winned mommy!" Yes, my 5 year-old is a better bowler than me, I will admit it.

little rockstars

Briley got the guitar for her birthday. Both girls got Hannah Montana microphones. And here they are putting their new toys to good use. I love how they include Shallon in
their little performances. We definitely have some rockstars in the making! How does "The Severts' Sisters" sound???

snuggles

This photo was totally staged, I will admit it. But doesn’t Shallon look sooo cute all snuggled up with her new little lamb? Sleeping babies are the best!

completely unique

So I think our little Shallon is trying to do everything just a little differently than most babies. Not only does she crawl using the one-legged-scoot method, but now she does this cute twisty-wrist wave. And she sucks her LEFT thumb. Not that being left-handed is super unique, I know that there are lots of lefty's out there. But it's just one more thing, that helps her stand out from the blur of being the 3rd daughter.

the bike

Here's the 1st bike ride and another ride a little later:

Avalyn finally got her first bike for her birthday this year. She has wanted one for quite some time now. But, we've never really had anywhere for her to ride a bike until now. We just love our quiet little neighborhood.

Celebrate...

and

It's birthday time at our house. We had a family party this year for Avalyn and Briley. After last years double party extravaganza, I have decided every other year will be good for big friend parties. So, this year we tried to keep it low key and do a family party. It was great Nana was in town, and Grammy & Granddad came with uncles Kevin and Sean. Most of all Avalyn and Briley loved their party.

Ok, I took a lot of pictures so there were a lot to choose from. I had a hard time deciding and I didn't want to go into photo overload, so I attempted to make scrapbook pages. I'm still new at this whole digital scrapbooking thing. So I guess, let me know what you think.

Nana

Nana came to visit, all the way from Washington state. We had soo much fun with her. And we wish that she didn't live quite sooo far away! But since she does live far away, we definitely got super spoiled while she was here. We stayed 2 nights in Las Vegas and did some major shopping. We also hit up the new Home Depot here in town a few times. And of course picked up some things at our local Wal-Mart. I love shopping and luckily my mom kinda likes it too!

But I really love having my mom around and I love seeing her with my girls! I just wish that it was more often. As you can see, Shallon just adores her Nana. We miss you, Nana! Come back soon!

jump in...

I promise, my girls don't always play nicely together. But when they do I really try to capture the rare moment. Avalyn and Briley taught Shallon how to twirl the jump rope. It's pretty cute!

Party of 3! (update, part 3)

I love it when the girls can play all together, nicely. Especially now that Shallon's getting bigger and wants to play with the big girls. I was in the other room and this is what I found when I went to check on them. Soo cute! I love my girls!

Update...(part 2)

Our little skinny dippers! The girls just love Grammy and Granddad's giant hottub. Usually, they wear swimsuits.

Update...(part 1)

Sorry I guess that we took a little unexpected vacation from blogging. So much has been going on, so sit back for some major updating!

We are still working on the house. This is me spray painting the girls bedroom furniture. Grammy, Greg and Sean, all helped me with this project, but oddly enough the only pictures that I have, are of ME (weird)!

Ok, so I have decided to break this up into parts.

(stay continued!)

house update...

So, one of the first things that we wanted to do, to our new home, was get some color on those white walls!!! We now have a perfectly PINK girls bedroom, a lemony yellow kitchen, a sage green master bedroom, and our great room is a gorgeous brown with a darker brown in the entertainment center cut-out. Grammy was very helpful when it came to narrowing down the color choices. And Granddad not only picked out our beautiful ceiling fans, but he installed all 5 of them. We were sooo lucky to have them come over and help us get settled in. As you can see Shallon was also a big help!

New Camera!!!

Thank you, mom! After hearing all about my camera troubles, my super sweet mom offered to give us her awesome camera. I love my mom soooo much! The camera arrived a few days ago and I have been taking it everywhere. So stay tuned for some major updating...

These are pictures from before we moved in. So pictures of our personal touches are still to come!

Camera Trouble

Ahhhh!!!! I broke our camera. I'm sooo upset. I can't even get the pictures off of it, that I took of the inside of the new house. I'm totally freaking out!

Sorry, I just needed to vent. Hopefully, we will be able to fix this terrible situation very soon.
