Memorial Day

We spent our Memorial Day: swimming in our new kiddie pool, playing Guitar Hero, barbequeing with our friends, playing around outside and finally ending our day with a photo-shoot (for scrapbooking purposes). We had a really fun day and hopefully this is just the start of many more to come this summer!!!

Death Valley

We took a little day trip to Death Valley with the Abbiss family today. And yes it was hot! The thermometer by our heads (in the 2nd picture) says it's only 100 degrees, but that thing was in the shade, attached to an air-conditioned building (that has to affect the reading, right?)!!! In spite of the heat, we still had a fun time taking in the sights (???) and mostly just hanging out with our friends!

preschool...

Briley finished off her first year of preschool with a little graduation ceremony tonight. It went very smoothly and the kids did a great job.

For the program, all the kids sang a few of the songs that they had learned this past year. Then each kid presented the first letter of their name. Briley's went like this, "B is for Briley and Ballerina." Each kid was then called up to receive their preschool diploma (thanks miss Holly). Finally we all went inside to watch a video presentation of all the fun that we had this year at preschool (thanks miss Shelley)!

Briley had a really fun first year of preschool and she is already looking forward to her second one, next year!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Today is the beginning of Teacher Appreciation Week. And Greg is already having a good week!! This super awesome parent, Debbie, called around to some local businesses and asked if they could donate something to raffle off for the teachers this week. And today, Greg won a $70 gift certificate to Stockman's Steak House! One of Greg's co-workers offered to watch the girls tonight, so that we could use it. Yeah, date night for us!!! The food was delicious, but pretty expensive. So we probably won't be back, unless Greg wins again next year!

Twin Day

Today was Twin Day at Floyd Elementary. For a couple days Avalyn had been telling me that it was coming up, but she couldn't remember the day. She was also very insistant that I needed to call her friend Hailey's mom to help us decide how they could be twins together. Well as you can see it worked out and they look pretty cute!!! Avalyn was one very happy half-of-a-twin! And Hailey looks pretty happy too.

kindergarten baby shower

Mrs. Dean's kindergarteners threw her a baby shower today. There were some really cute games, like who has the poopy (melted chocolate) diaper, pin the pacifier on the baby and guess the baby food. And Little Miss Lucky, Avalyn, won ALL 3 games. I don't know how she did it, maybe she really is lucky! Mrs. Dean opened some of her presents while the kids ate pizza that they won from Papa John's earlier this week. Avalyn gave baby Peyton a cute cowgirl outfit. Then Miss Debbie presented Mrs. Dean with a book, that the kids made of, drawings that they drew for baby Peyton. It's a really cute keepsake! And the party was soo fun! Miss Debbie did a great job of putting the whole thing together.

cute hair, finally!!!

I found this hairblog that I am totally in love with! And now that I'm feeling better, I am determined to do a better job of fixing my girls' hair. So "stay continued" for more cute hair posts!

crazy sleeping

So our baby (for now), Shallon, has been sleeping in her own bed now for about 2 weeks!!! And she has actually been going down pretty easily with her sisters every night. Well.... tonight, she went down just like normal. When Greg went to check on the girls, this is how he found her....asleep! Legs dangling and all!!

And Shallon isn't the only one that we have found sleeping in this position! I found quite a few pictures of Avalyn! Here's one, where she fell asleep on the couch, while I was making lunch.

I couldn't find any pictures of Briley sleeping weirdly. I guess she's our only normal one! Or maybe it's just thumb-suckers, they can sleep anywhere!

Ballet Recital 2009

Brianne, Hailey and Avalyn hanging out backstage.

Avalyn dancing to "Someday My Prince Will Come," from Snow White. I try to keep Avalyn centered for the whole video, so that you can spot her easily.

After the show, all the dancers come on stage for a final bow.

Avalyn and Miss Rachel, her Kinderballet teacher.

Beautiful flowers for a beautiful ballerina!

Easter!

Here are our little Early Birds showing off their Easter loot!

Shallon's even taking after her aunt Lindsay and starting her addiction to Cadbury Mini-Eggs at the early age of 1!

The girls in their pretty new Easter dresses (thanks Nana)!
And finally an updated family photo (thanks Granddad)!

Easter prep...

Ok, so I'm going to be honest. I don't really like this Easter tradition. It seems like more of a headache than any actual fun, plus it's stinky and messy!! And during the "hunt" (and after), I would much rather find a plastic egg with yummy candy in it than a stinky hard-boiled egg.

That being said, the girls and daddy did have fun coloring the eggs. Grammy and Granddad even joined in on the fun. And the Easter Bunny enjoyed hiding all of the colored eggs out in plain sight, so that none would be forgotten! Now the Easter baskets were another story.

Crazy Hair Day!

Today was "Crazy Hair Day," at Floyd Elementary!!! With Avalyn's long, beautiful hair, we really got to have some fun, making braided curly-Qs and twisty-messy buns all over her head. You might be able to tell from the pictures that Avalyn didn't think that it was quite as much fun as I did. And with Greg's not-so-long hair, he got to wear his FAVORITE Savers wig. At least he didn't Bic his head, like he talked about, I probably would have cried.
